DocuPunch PLUS+

The James Burn DocuPunch® PLUS is the fastest, easiest, and most reliable mid-volume book binding punch in its class. Part of the latest generation of James Burn automatic punching equipment, it is as simple to use as any office copier or printer. The control panel, a touchscreen LCD, quickly guides the user through setup, allowing the machine to be calibrated for specific jobs in under a minute. Additionally, the DocuPunch® die change process is even faster, taking just seconds to switch between Wire-O, plastic coil, plastic comb, and more. This simple process means operators require no special training, enabling work to begin immediately.

The DocuPunch® PLUS is mounted on wheels with brakes for easy mobility, allowing it to be moved wherever needed. It is designed for precise automatic punching of mid-volume books directly from your copier or printer, handling paper from 70 gsm to 250 gsm. Positive sheet pickup from the top of the stack and a three-sided jogger prepare pages for perfect alignment and accurately placed holes every time. Punched sheets remain in perfect pre-ordered sequence, facilitating handling and transfer to the binding stage. It also punches index tabs with a 1/4” margin at the ends, pre-sorted in the finished sets.

Cycle speed is adjustable with three settings: 50, 60, and 75 cycles per minute, reaching up to 45,000 sheets per hour, making it the fastest binding punch in its class. Slower settings are used for mixed pages, index tabs, and more specific sheets. Adjustable options allow selection of the ideal configuration for each job, ensuring optimal results. The sheet thickness pickup is adjustable from 0.4 mm to 1 mm, allowing fine-tuning for maximum, trouble-free production across various paper types. Adjustments can even be made mid-job via the touchscreen.

Maintenance of the DocuPunch® PLUS is simple, with alerts for when the die needs lubrication or sharpening, and when the waste container is full. Its compact size is remarkably small for its power, fitting perfectly in even the tightest spaces, and it can be easily moved as needed on its heavy-duty wheeled base with brakes.
